UK hot weather maps show the exact date 32C Iberian heat bomb will boil Britain

Hot weather looks set to herald the start of next weekend as the mercury begins to climb towards 30Cs as the UK catches some of the heat from southern Spain where a high of 32C is on the cards.

Weather maps generated by WX Charts show top temperatures ranging from the mid-teens up to around 20C in some parts of the UK over the next few days.

This pattern more or less persists until around Friday (September 6) before the mercury steadily rises by a few degrees, with warmer weather around Lincolnshire and East Anglia in particular.

Boston looks set for 27C and Fakenham 26C by 6pm on Friday. This compares to cooler temperatures further south, with around 22C in Birmingham, 20C in Bristol, 24C in Manchester and 19C in Edinburgh, according to WX Charts.

A swathe of England stretching from Liverpool across to Ipswich up to Harrogate over to Blackpool may see top temperatures range from 22C-27C.

Top temperatures further south and west look set to range from around 18C in Plymouth to 20C in Gloucester and 19C in Stratford-upon-Avon by the same time on Friday evening.

Saturday and Sunday (September 7 and 8) look to continue the warm weather, with temperatures in the mid-20Cs for some.

WX Charts’ maps contrast with charts generated by Netweather yesterday which showed a top temperature of 30C around Peterborough on Saturday.

The coincides with weather maps showing temperatures surge to as high as 32C in southern parts of Spain.

The Met Office‘s long-range weather forecast (September 6-15) says towards the end of this week, higher pressure is likely to be focussed over northern parts of the UK, with low pressure over the near continent.

It adds that the driest conditions are most likely over Scotland and Northern Ireland, with a greater chance of rain or showers, perhaps thundery, in England and Wales.

The Met Office says: “These showery conditions are expected to become more widespread into the weekend, with even some northern areas possibly seeing rain or showers at times.

“It will also become more humid, especially in the south and east, with potential for some very warm conditions.”

The forecaster expects little overall change into the following week, with central and southern areas most prone to rain or showers at times, with a tendency towards being drier in the far north.
