Two Wiltshire pubs named in UK’s top 100 venues by experts
The Daily Mail recently asked some of the biggest names in Britain’s food and drink industry, including Tom Parker-Bowles, Raymond Blanc, Michel Roux Jr, and Prue Leith to share their favourite pubs.
These picks were combined with hundreds of reviews, food and drink awards results, and the views of pub experts, to compile a list of the county’s top 100 venues.
Two Wiltshire pubs made the cut, with both The George Inn at Lacock and The Wheatsheaf in Chilton Foliat named among the county’s best.

“It’s no longer in use but the Wadworth 6X ale is as good as you’ll find anywhere. And there’s a good range of cider too.”
The food critic explained that The Wheatsheaf made the ranking thanks to its modern menu.
He added: “Recently refurbished, this perfect village pub has Ramsbury Gold on tap, and it has very good modern pub food too.”
