Two Sussex spots among best UK places to see autumn colours

Sheffield Park near Haywards Heath and the Halnaker tree tunnel near Chichester were featured alongside 25 other places in a list from Country Living.

Discussing the creation of the list, the publication wrote: “Autumn is alive with a breathtaking palette of golden colours, brilliant blue skies and a crisp chill in the air.

“Wherever you live in the UK, it’s the perfect time to slip on your walking boots and soak up all the season has to offer.



“To help you find the best spots to visit, we’ve rounded up the wonderful places in the UK to see the blazing colours of autumn in 2024.”

Sheffield Park

Sheffield Park was praised for its “fiery autumn display” of colours that is best seen towards the second half of October.

Country Living wrote: “The National Trust’s Sheffield Park is famous for its fiery autumn display.

“Originally laid out in the 18th century by Capability Brown, it has some of the best colours in the country.

“To experience all it has to offer, the National Trust recommends visiting in the second half of October.”

Country Living praised the Halnaker tree tunnel as an “incredible sight to behold” that could be found on the way to the Halnaker Windmill.
