Transfer news LIVE: Emery wants TWO Chelsea stars after Jhon Duran move ‘agreed’

On guard

Aston Villa will complete a club record £50million deal for Everton midfielder Amadou Onana this weekend.

Unai Emery has beaten Bayern Munich and Barcelona to land the Belgian international, who was previously a target for Arsenal and Newcastle.

The 22-year-old has agreed personal terms on a five-year-deal.

And he is set to undergo a medical at Villa when he returns from a short break following his involvement with Belgium at the Euros.

Selling Onana means the Toffees are now under far less pressure to sell centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite to Manchester United.

Capturing the 22-year-old represents a major coup for Emery who has been given the go ahead to considerably beef up Villa’s squad for the Champions’ League this season.

Up in the air

Chelsea’s pre-season plans are in total meltdown with a dressing-room rift triggered by Enzo Fernandez’s racist video.

The midfielder posted a live stream of himself and some Argentina team-mates singing an offensive song referencing the heritage of France’s players.

It sent shockwaves through the Blues’ squad with up to TEN stars either unfollowing or snubbing him on Instagram.

The £106million World Cup winner has issued an apology but one insider told SunSport: “It’s not enough”.

Fernandez, 23, posted on Instagram: “I want to apologise sincerely for a video posted on my Instagram channel during the national team celebrations. The song includes highly offensive language and there is absolutely no excuse for these words.

“I stand against discrimination in all forms and apologise for getting caught up in the euphoria of our Copa America celebrations. That video, that moment, those words, do not reflect my beliefs or my character. I am truly sorry.”

Rat pack

Gareth Southgate has hired a close associate of Man Utd owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe as an adviser as he considers his next step in management.

SunSport has learned that Southgate has been using Jimmy Worrall, who has worked as a consultant for Ratcliffe’s company INEOS, since splitting with his agent Terry Byrne earlier this year.

Worrall is the founder and chairman of conference company Leaders in Sport, who run networking events all over the world.

The Liverpool-born businessman is also a consultant and has worked as an adviser for several top organisations including INEOS and the European Club Association.

Southgate has known Worrall for years and has decided to rely on his friend’s advice as he plots the next stage of his career, rather than employ a full-time agent.

Worrall was involved in discussions with the FA over the last few days which led to the announcement of Southgate’s departure.

Gunner get him

Arsenal have agreed an £86million deal for Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres, reports say.

Outlet Leonino led this evening’s speculation over the 20-cap Swede.

The Gunners, as as well as Manchester United, were talked up in connection with the ex-Coventry man, 26, early in the summer.

But it’s never thought they came close to launching a serious offer.

Now, however, at least according to one section of the media in Portugal, Arsenal could be in the running to recruit the former Brighton fringe man.

The Gunners are reportedly willing to pay his release clause.

Reiss lightening

Arsenal attacker Reiss Nelson has reportedly opted for West Ham – after also being linked to Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest.

TEAMtalk reckon the 24-year-old is ready to sign for new Hammers’ manager Julen Lopetegui.

The Gunners’ academy product has long been linked with the Hammers.

And he finally appears set for a permanent move away from the Emirates this summer for regular football.

TEAMtalk also suggest Palace have not ruled out trying to hijack London Prem rivals the hammers with a new approach for Nelson.

The Eagles are said to be keen on his ability to play out wide – especially after losing Michael Olise to Bayern Munich.
