Transfer news LIVE: Emery wants TWO Chelsea stars after Jhon Duran move ‘agreed’
Leicester points deduction
Leicester are facing an almost certain points deduction next season before kicking a ball in the Premier League.
The promoted Foxes had argued that Prem bosses had no right to charge them for a 2022-23 Profitability and Sustainability Rules breach BECAUSE they were relegated to the Championship.
But after an independent commission found in favour of the Prem, Leicester could be deducted 10 points or MORE within weeks of the new campaign beginning unless an appeal by the club succeeds.
And that could effectively consign them to the verge of the drop before new boss Steve Cooper has properly got to know his players.
Leicester were charged with a PSR breach in March and also with “failing to submit their audited financial accounts to the League.”
Clubs are only permitted to make “allowable losses” – after a complicated calculation – of £105m over three years, with Leicester’s published financial figures showing they were substantially over the limit, although the precise scale of the breach is unclear.
Max Kilman windfall
West Ham are set to sign Wolves captain Max Kilman after agreeing a £40million deal, which will see the player reuniting with manager Julen Lopetegui.
Kilman is expected to sign a six-year deal with the Hammers, who beat Manchester United, Newcastle and Tottenham to his signature.
The East Londoners had initially seen a bid of £30m rejected for the centre-back before going above their original limit of £35m.
Wolves had been pushing up the price as they owe National League side Maidenhead United 10 per cent of the profit of any deal, with the 27-year-old having joined from the club for £40,000 in 2018.
The sell-on clause was negotiated down from the original 20 per cent as the Molineux outfit would have demanded even more for their skipper had it remained so high, which would have made a move impossible.
It means Maidenhead are set to receive £4m from that deal.
Gallagher ‘reluctant on Villa
Chelsea ace Conor Gallagher is not keen on moving to Aston Villa this summer.
According to The Telegraph, Gallagher would be “reluctant” to relocate to the Midlands.
The same source adds that the midfielder is waiting on a potential new deal from the Blues.
The England international’s deal runs out next year, which means the West Londoners are at risk of losing him for free in 2025.
Arsenal sign David Raya
Arsenal have officially completed the permanent signing of David Raya from Brentford.
Raya joined the Gunners from the Bees on loan last year for a fee of £3m, replacing Aaron Ramsdale as the club’s No1.
The goalkeeper enjoyed an impressive debut season at the Emirates, conceding just 24 goals and keeping 16 clean sheets to win the Golden Glove in 32 Premier League matches.
The Spain international joins on a long-term contract after the triggering of a £27m buy option.
Michael Olise medical
Crystal Palace star Michael Olise is set for his medical at Bayern Munich.
According to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, Bayern have booked initial part of medical tests for Olise on Sunday.
Nothing has been signed yet as the Bavarians were informed Palace have a percentage on a future sale of the winger after triggering his release clause.
Once that is sorted then the Frenchman will soon join Vincent Kompany’s side.
Rabiot reveals transfer preference
Adrien Rabiot will snub a transfer to the Premier League in order to join Real Madrid, Calciomercato claim.
The Italian outlet say Rabiot, who is a free agent after his Juventus contract expired, dreams of playing for Madrid.
It comes as Juventus push to sign Khephren Thuram from Nice.
