The UK’s best cider pub has been crowned by CAMRA for 2024

Cider is a beverage for all seasons. The months of cold, crisp pints might be over, but now we’re entering cosy mulled cider territory. And if you prefer a scrumpy to a lager or a perry to a IPA, we’ve got just the thing for you.

The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) has just announced the winner of it’s National Cider and Perry Pub of the Year, an award that recognises establishments that celebrate and encourage the sale of real cider and perry across the UK

So, without further ado, the grand title of Britain’s cider pub of the year went to… That Beer Place (confusing, we know), in Chester

CAMRA said of the winner: ‘That Beer Place in Chester has become a hub for both beer and cider enthusiasts alike, with a real focus on showcasing a diverse range of ciders and perries. Judges were impressed with the select and interesting variety of draught ciders and perries, supplemented by a diverse and wide choice of bottles.’

With over 140 real ciders and perries on offer, That Beer Place regularly runs events with UK cider makers andd industry experts, hosts monthly Chester Cider Club evenings and plans to launch a training programme named That Cider School to spread the cider love.

The runners up for the main prize were The Frothblowers in Peterborough, The Hop Inn in Hornchurch and The Woodman in Bridport. CAMRA also announced 16 regional winners, which were:
