The UK’s best beer has been crowned for 2024
Few things hit the spot like a crisp beer at the height of British summer. And now that we’re finally getting some proper warm weather, it’s time to head to your nearest park and crack open a cold one.
But which beer will it be? A hazy IPA? A funky mango sour? A good old lager? How about a pale ale that has just been named the best beer in the entire country?
Steady Rolling Man, a pale ale from Cheltenham-based DEYA Brewing Company was the winner of this year’s Top 50 UK Beer Awards from We Are Beer.
The awards celebrate the ‘best made and most influential beers currently available in the UK’, voted for by a panel of expert brewers, retailers and journalists. Steady Rolling Man beat the likes of Hells from Camden Brewery and Hazy Jane from Brewdog. It was described by judges as ‘incredibly soft and delicate’.
Theo Freyne, co-owner of DEYA Brewing said: ‘Steady Rolling Man is the first beer we brewed at DEYA and it remains our most important and potentially most delicious beer.’
Greg Wells, co-founder of We Are Beer, said: ‘Truly great beers from lesser-known British craft breweries, such as the DEYA Brewing Company, as well as great British classics such as Timothy Taylor’s Landlord, have emerged triumphant and proves the skill and craftsmanship that lives on in the UK brewing scene.’
