Thatcham TikTok influencer is an award winner

A content creator has won a national award for her comedy videos on TikTok.

Thatcham woman Joanne Elliot, known as @bluelady4929 online, won an award at the UK Top Influencer Awards.

She won the UK Top Micro Influencer 2024 Award for her Facebook page- where she has 54k followers.

She also has 22k followers on Instagram.

But her biggest success is her 1.4 million followers on TikTok – which grew from just under half a million – 473,000 – back in 2021.

Mrs Elliot built her audience from creating comedy sketches and relatable content for families.

She attended the inaugural ceremony, hosted by Love Island Star Georgia Harrison, in Newcastle.

“I felt proud that people had voted for me,” she said.

“My husband and I got all dolled up and we went.

“I had to go up on stage and made a speech which I was nervous about.

“Put me in front of a camera and I am fine.”

She said her videos are made to put a smile on people’s faces.

“I get so many comments from people who were feeling down but my content cheers them up.

“I do it for them.”

The mother-of-two teenagers said she takes inspiration from everything and often takes down notes when hearing something on TV or from her children that gives her an idea.

“I am sat here constantly trying to come up with ideas I write all my own scripts myself and it is a lot of hard work.

“But I do switch off and I go out for walks and spend time with my family who are more important than anything.

“They are really supportive and help me with ideas.

“My husband is my biggest fan.”

She also likes to raise awareness for female relation issues like periods, smear tests and even breast cancer.

She said: “Girls comment to say thank you and that they’re now able to tell their parents.

“I like to help and if I can help just one person, it will be wort
