Suffolk garden named among best in the UK
Helmingham Hall, near Stowmarket, was named in The Guardian’s 10 of the best gardens to visit around the UK by Sally Page.
Commending the 544-year-old gardens, the Sunday Times Bestseller said: “The first thing to strike you about Helmingham is the moat that encircles the hall.
“The water reflects the beautiful architecture of the house, giving a glimpse of the surrounding gardens.”

She added: “There is so much to admire: the walled garden, the apple tree walk, the knot garden, the stunning herbaceous borders and, my personal favourite, the wildflower meadows teeming with butterflies.”
This accolade comes after a successful few months for Helmingham Hall following the Suffolk Dog Day event in September which raised more than £70,000 for charity.
The gardens at Helmingham Hall gardens are open on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Sundays from 10am to 5pm, including bank holidays.
