SRUC continues to climb rankings according to new Guardian University placings
Professor Wayne Powell, principal and chief executive, said going up ten places since 2022 was “a fantastic achievement that was testament to our ongoing commitment to delivering a world-class learning experience for our students”.
The Guardian University Guide ranks universities based on key student-focused criteria such as teaching quality, student satisfaction, and graduate employability – all areas in which SRUC has consistently improved.
Under the leadership of Dr Pauline Hanesworth, SRUC’s innovative SEEDABLE approach, which embeds sustainability, enterprise, equality, and diversity into the curriculum, has played a key role in this transformation.
The initiative recently awarded a Green Gown Award, recognising its groundbreaking impact on making SRUC’s programmes not only sustainable but also highly relevant to the challenges of today’s world.
Combined with a cycle of continuous curriculum review, SRUC’s courses remain current, industry-relevant, and focused on giving students the skills they need to succeed in their chosen fields.
Professor Powell added: “This is superb recognition for SRUC and is an excellent indicator of the great strides we continue to make as an institution.
“Using feedback from the National Student Survey (NSS) and other ranking platforms like the Guardian University Guide, we continuously refine our courses to provide the best possible experience for our students.
“This ensures that SRUC graduates are not just employable, but leaders in their fields, equipped with the competencies to tackle the world’s biggest challenges, such as climate change, biodiversity loss and food security.”
