The top artist listened to in the UK was, surprise, surprise, Taylor Swift. Her dominance is easy to understand, given that Taylor’s Eras Tour over the summer was one of the year’s biggest musical events. Swift also scooped up the title of ‘most-streamed album’ in the UK this year, with 2024’s The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology.
The most-streamed individual song by Brits this year was Noah Kahan’s ‘Stick Season’. There’s no denying that Kahan is now a bona fide superstar and massively popular over here – he’s even headlining London’s massive BST Hyde Park next summer.
The UK’s Spotify Wrapped is also broken down into genres, revealing the nation’s top picks for rock and indie artist (Arctic Monkeys) and song (‘I Wanna Be Yours’ by Arctic Monkeys), metal artist (Bring Me The Horizon) and song (‘Paranoid’ by Black Sabbath), and rap artist (Central Cee) and song (‘BAND4BAND’ by Central Cee feat. Lil Baby).
