Sir Elton John is the UK’s most generous celebrity – donating more than £3,000 to charities every hour.
The Rocket Man singer, who has a £450million fortune, doles out £74,000 a day to charitable causes close to his heart – that’s £3,082 an hour, or £27 million a year.
Researchers at digital raffle platform Raffolux – which raises money for charities – found that Sir Elton only just nudged Harry Potter author JK Rowling (£3,060 an hour) into second place.
The Harry Potter author, worth around £820 million, donates £3,060-per-hour, that’s £73,440 every single day, around £26.8m.
Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton (£1,255 an hour) was third.

Although the figures sound like a lot, the top donator to charity from the UK is Sir Chris Hohn, an investment banker with a fortune of around £8bn.
He donates a humungous £68,595 to charity every hour – that’s £1.6m-a-day, or just over £600m-a-year.
That’s 22 times more than generous Sir Elton, who donates to charities connected to HIV/AIDS, the arts, music, and sport.
A spokesman for Raffolux said this week: ‘Sir Elton John has been revealed as the most generous celebrity in the past year, donating just over £3,000-an-hour to charities.’
