See the newly re-opened North Wales hotel among the UK’s best cheap autumn breaks

From city hotspots to coastal escapes, The Telegraph has come up with a list of the top 10 best new British hotels for an autumn break under £200.

Introducing the list, the news outlet said: “With its undercurrent of fresh starts and sharpened pencils, autumn has a reset vibe that’s gentler than the New Year.

“Before winter sets in, this is a chance to explore the British countryside in a blaze of colour or feast on the bounties of harvest season.

Six tips for cheaper family holidays

“It’s a perfect time to explore the UK coastline too, with the crowds having departed.

“All the hotels below have just opened or will open in the next month or so, and are ideal for a weekend break.

“Some are fresh from renovations or reinventions and now brimming with great ideas – be that restaurants that aim to combat food waste, mini kitchens in rooms or 24-hour larders.

“The best bit? All have rates that start from under £200 a night.”

What makes the Bridge End Hotel among Britain’s best for a cheap break this autumn

After a lengthy closure, the new owners of the Bridge End Hotel in Llangollen re-opened the site in September after a £1.5 million renovation.

The Telegraph said this new-look hotel was the perfect spot for an autumn break because of its location and the autumnal activities nearby.

The news outlet explained: “The hotel overlooks both the river Dee and the Llangollen and Corwen steam railway, and is located in one of the most attractive towns in North Wales.

“Autumnal activities in the vicinity range from white water rafting to horse-drawn canal boat trips.”

The Bridge End Hotel boasts a 4 (out of 5) rating on Tripadvisor from 253 reviews.

A visitor from early this month (October) left a glowing review of the new look hotel, saying: “Excellent hotel, we can highly recommend it. The room we stayed in was finished to a great standard, everything looked new.

“It felt cozy and we appreciated the tea/coffee and short bread in the room. Very friendly and welcoming staff and superb choice of breakfast this morning.

“We’ll definitely love to stay here again, really good value for money in the heart of Llangollen.

“We parked in a nearby public car park, £4 a day. Flat walk to the hotel, took us less than 5 minutes.”
