14:20 York: The Panel Selection – Wild Waves

Andrew Balding has won the Melrose handicap twice in the last four years and fields two in this renewal. 

Oisin Murphy likely had the choice of which to ride and has plumped for Wild Waves. 

With Tactician likely to be better at two miles, it looks the right choice and he can get back on track after slipping on the bend at the eventually aborted Haydock meeting in July. 

He had previously looked progressive with wins at Kempton and over this trip last time out at Doncaster.

15:35 York: The Panel Selections – Relentless Voyager And My Mate Mozzie

The Ebor handicap looks the usual impossible puzzle with a strong Irish challenge and the suggestion is to bet both the Balding/Murphy representative Relentless Voyager from the home team and My Mate Mozzie from the Irish battalion.

The former demolished a field in a 12f handicap at Epsom and may improve over this trip.

Meanwhile, the latter is trained by Gavin Cromwell, who loves to plunder British races, and ran well at Royal Ascot when third in a handicap over this distance.
