LeoVegas Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) Chris Welch has expressed his delight after BetMGM ranked top of the app charts.
On the Apple App Store today, BetMGM’s sports betting and casino app reached the top spot in the UK for iPhone free sports apps.
This achievement is the first time this has happened for BetMGM, according to Welch, and has seen the app top the UK charts for free sports apps ahead of the likes of bet365, Paddy Power, Sky Bet and even non-betting apps such as DartCounter, Spond and Adidas.
In a post on his LinkedIn page, Welch said: “Bet365 are competitors we admire, they and others help us get better everyday day because ordinary doesn’t beat good and to win you have to be great.
“Proud then for the first time and not the last, we are No1 in the app charts in the UK with BetMGM.
“Well done team for a great achievement and thank you competitors, you helped us get there.”
In the US BetMGM last month reported $1.96bn in revenue for fiscal year 2023, growing 36% year-on-year. However, the UK division is separate from the US, being operated by LeoVegas.
LeoVegas parent company MGM Resorts also recently announced a collaboration with Kindbridge, with the aim of the partnership to increase problem gambling research and mental health services, with MGM Resorts making a $100,000 donation to the Kindbridge Research Institute as part of this.
