Jessica Alba throws it back to the Nineties with statement necklace

If you’re delighted by the return of Nineties and Noughties fashion trends, you’re going to love Jessica Alba’s latest look, featuring the one accessory we all couldn’t stop wearing back in the day.

The Honey actor was seen in Los Angeles earlier this week, wearing an oversized brown cardigan, barrel-leg jeans, chunky black boots and…a statement silver heart necklace.

Without her nostalgic jewellery, her outfit might have felt a little ‘meh’, but its addition instantly elevated it all to chic off-duty perfection. That’s the power of a touch of metallic shine for you (this season’s ‘It’ shoe, the silver trainer, would have had a similar effect).

Big, bold necklaces are making their comeback this season, with many of our favourite fashion influencers seen wearing chunky pendants in a move away from ‘quiet luxury’ minimalism.

Mango’s giant silver or gold heart on a black velvet ribbon has already sold out, while Roxanne Assoulin’s Puffy Heart on a double chain is currently top of our (and every fashion editor’s) wish list.

As with most trends, the revival of boho-inspired pendant necklaces stems from the runways, with the likes of Tom Ford and Bottega Veneta sending models down their AW24 catwalks in eye-catching metallic or gemstone designs hanging from long chains or cords.

Jessica Alba’s style reminds us of Katie Holmes’ in its elegant nonchalance, which is definitely an aesthetic we’re aspiring to this autumn/winter.
