‘It’s a privilege to make a difference’: Mobility company named one of UK’s top 100 small businesses
A mobility company has been named as one of the nation’s top 100 small firms by the Small Business Saturday UK campaign.
Suffolk Mobility Solutions Ltd, based in Stowmarket, offers life-changing home improvements to people who have faced sudden trauma, disability, or age-related illness.
The company, founded by Ian Bell in 2020, has been selected as part of this year’s SmallBiz100 line-up.
The line-up showcases 100 of the most impressive independent businesses from across the nation as part of the count-down to Small Business Saturday on December 7.
Small Business Saturday is the UK’s most successful small business campaign.
It takes place each year on the first weekend in December, celebrating small businesses while at the same time encouraging consumers to ‘shop local’.
Mr Bell said: “A heartfelt thank you to our amazing customers, suppliers, dedicated team and community for your unwavering support.
“The last four years have been filled with challenges, growth and most importantly the privilege of making a real difference to people’s lives.
“To be selected as one of the SmallBiz100 is a great honour.
“We are so pleased to start our fifth year with this accolade.”
Small Business Saturday is a grassroots, non-commercial campaign. It was originally founded by American Express in the US in 2010. The brand remains the principal supporter of the campaign in the UK.
It encourages customers across the UK support all types of small businesses, from independent shops and restaurants to small service and b2b businesses like accountants and plumbers.
Last year, the campaign received support from the Prime Minister, the Mayor of London, as well as the Chancellor of the Exchequer. More than 90 per cent of councils also supported the campaign, which trended across social media on the day.
