Incredible £467 train journey so lavish it’s like Buckingham Palace on wheels
A luxury train that travels through beautiful corridors of India is so lavish that it’s like Buckingham Palace. The Palace on Wheels is a luxury train that travels through the Indian states of Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.
The train is inspired by the personal carriages of the erstwhile Maharajas, Nizams, and Viceroys of India, providing a regal experience.
The train‘s decor reflects the grandeur and opulence of royal palaces, with rich furnishings, elegant designs, and traditional art.
Each carriage is named after former Rajput states and has its own unique decor. The cabins are equipped with modern amenities while retaining a vintage charm.
There are two restaurant cars, “Maharaja” and “Maharani,” serving a variety of cuisines, including Rajasthani, Indian, Continental, and Chinese dishes.
The train features a lounge and a well-stocked bar, providing a comfortable space for relaxation and socialising.
Other facilities include a spa, internet connectivity, and personalised services. The journey typically lasts 7 nights and 8 days.
The journey includes cultural programs, folk dances, and music performances at various stops.
Passengers can partake in guided tours of historical sites, wildlife safaris, and shopping excursions for traditional crafts.
The train journey starts and ends at Delhi, the capital city of India. Travellers will pass through other beautiful cities such as Jaipur, Sawai Madhopur, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bharatpur and Agra.
Those who have experienced the train ride have called it an “unforgettable journey” on TripAdvisor forum.
