How Trump plans to beat Kamala Harris – as his top team draws up plan of attack for when she takes over Biden

Donald Trump‘s campaign is preparing an attack plan to take down Kamala Harris if Joe Biden pulls out of the race.

If Biden steps aside as the Democratic nominee, Harris will likely replace him – and Trump’s team has already started to form a strategy to take her down.

The plan includes a wave of ads that will focus on Harris’s record in her current office – as well as the time she spent in office in her home state of California

Trump’s campaign strategists have prepared opposition research books on Harris, two people briefed on the matter told the New York Times

According to the two people – anti-Harris signs and videos were made to show the delegates in the arena of the Republic National Convention and the TV audiences at home.

Similar books have been prepared on other high-profile Democrats who could throw their hats in the ring, if Biden drops out.

Given that Harris is the most obvious back-up choice, the majority of the preparations by Trump’s team have been focused on her.

This prep from Republicans is based on the assumption that if Democrats were to bypass the first Black woman to serve as VP – the party would become even more divided and Black voters would be alienated.

Such preparations include recently conducted polls to gauge the public’s opinion on the current VP.

Surprising new polls revealed if Democrats actually want Kamala Harris to become president as Biden’s campaign implodes and his popularity amongst the left dwindles.

A poll found that around six in 10 Democrats think that Vice President Harris would do well if Biden stepped aside and she was president herself.

Polling, which was conducted by the AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, determined that a majority of Democrats believe the country would be in good hands if Harris took over.

Approximately 58 percent of Democrats think Harris would make a good president – while 22 percent think she would not and 20 percent ‘do not know enough to say’.

This is compared to the 30 percent of the general public that think Harris would make a good President and a staggering 87 percent of Republicans who said she would NOT make a good president.

Trump’s team have also thought one step further than who his opponent will be and how they can defeat them – they are also research possible running mates for Harris and preparing strategies to take them down too.

Amongst names of potential running mate being thrown around is Gov. Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania.

Pennsylvania is the state that Trump’s campaign has focused on winning the most to prevent the Democrats from taking the White House for a second term

Brian Fallon, a campaign spokesman for Harris, said in a statement to the Times: ‘After tanking the bipartisan border deal, Donald Trump has resorted to lying about the vice president’s record.

‘As a former district attorney and attorney general, she has stood up to fraudsters and felons like Trump her entire career. Trump’s lies won’t stop her from continuing to prosecute the case against him on the biggest issues in this race.’

Trump’s campaign have reportedly gone relatively easy on the President since his disastrous debate performance on June 27.

This move is made in the hopes that Biden remains the Democrats’ candidate – because Republicans believe Biden will be easier to beat than other prospective opponents.

If Biden agrees to drop out of the presidential race – but does not step down as acting President, Republicans will make the argument that the same reasons he quit the race for render him unfit to run the country, according to the people briefed on the situation.
