How to watch the first US Presidential Debate on TV and BBC iPlayer

The first presidential debate between president Joe Biden and former president Donald Trump takes place in Atlanta, Georgia on Thursday 27 June at 9pm ET.

In the UK, the CNN Presidential Debate will be available to watch on CNN Worldwide and simulcast on the BBC News Channel, BBC One and BBC iPlayer from 2am BST on Friday 28 June.  

Outside the UK, the BBC will carry the CNN Presidential Debate simulcast across its linear and digital properties, including the BBC News Channel and the newly relaunched BBC.com and BBC app. For those in the United States, the simulcast will also be available to watch on the BBC News FAST channel.   

BBC’s special on-air coverage will feature a panel of experts, led by Chief Presenter Caitríona Perry, who will host insightful conversations leading into and out of the simulcast, starting at 1am BST. 

Additionally, digital coverage will feature a debate live page on BBC.com by Anthony Zurcher, BBC’s North America Correspondent and editor of U.S. Election Unspun, and US Special Correspondent Katty Kay, as well as a dedicated episode of Americast, BBC’s award-winning podcast on American politics publishing tomorrow.
