Heriot-Watt enters UK top 40 universities

Heriot-Watt has been named in the UK’s top 40 universities in the latest Complete University Guide published this week.

Out of 130 institutions, the annual guide ranked the University in joint 40th place alongside the University of Aberdeen, marking a rise of four places on last year.

Both universities went on to finish in joint fifth spot out of Scotland’s 14 institutions – a single place improvement for Heriot-Watt.

The Guide also highlighted the University as coming first in Scotland for facilities spending, further underlining its commitment to providing an environment where students can achieve their full potential.

The Complete University Guide provides independent insight into higher education in the UK, analysing a variety of metrics including student satisfaction, research quality, graduate prospects and entry standards.

Professor Richard A. Williams, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of Heriot-Watt University, said: “This latest league table underscores our commitment to academic excellence and is recognition of the work that goes into ensuring our students receive a transformative learning experience.

“While we take pride in acknowledging and celebrating this achievement, it also serves as a catalyst for our ongoing efforts to elevate the standing of this University in the years to come.”
