Gym owner ‘over the moon’ for making top 10 at national awards night
New Body Fitness Weymouth was shortlisted in the National Fitness Awards, the UK’s biggest fitness awards and was in the running for the ‘Strength Training Gym of The Year’.
The annual event recognises excellence and achievement in gyms throughout the country and the gym, which is based on the Granby Industrial Estate, came sixth at an awards night in Leicester.
The gym is also celebrating its 10th year of business this year, so it’s an extra special bonus for them receive to be recognised for this achievement.
This isn’t the first time the local gym has had attention from the National Awards though, as in 2016 it we shortlisted for the ‘Regional Gym of the Year’ and in 2019 it took the runner up spot for the national ‘Strength Training Gym of The Year’.
Owner Nick Bell said: “We were over the moon with the nomination and to be shortlisted to within the top 10 sites in the UK is a fantastic achievement for all the team and members alike.
“It was a really great achievement and it is great to be back in the fold after a tough time since COVID.
“To have been trading now for 10 years in the local area and helped thousands of people to get fit and healthy is something to really be proud of.
“Our members have had some amazing successes themselves, locally, nationally and on the world stage which is what has set us apart for these awards.
“Thank you to everyone who has supported us throughout this last decade.”
The awards are organised by Script Events in conjunction with leading fitness industry magazine Workout.
National Fitness Awards’ event director Dominic Musgrave added: “The National Fitness Awards are now in their 14th year and with more entries than ever before, our finalists really have reason to celebrate too as it’s a huge achievement to have made the shortlist and is testament to the teams behind each.”
