A wind turbine has been “severely damaged” in a blaze, a fire service has said.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said the top of the 100ft (30m) turbine was “well alight” when crews arrived.

Firefighters were called to the site near Chulmleigh, at about 14:10 BST on Thursday.

It added: “The cause of the fire was accidental.”
