Published: Tue 24th September, 2024
The regulatory service team at Charnwood Borough Council has received the highest accolade at this year’s RSPCA PawPrints awards.
The Council entered the ‘Stray Dogs’ category and received a gold award for its commitment to animal welfare.
This level of award is given to organisations for their endless work that meets the communities needs including out of hours and weekend work to ensure dogs can be collected and taken to a safe space when reported as stray.
The category also looks at the work that organisations undertake to promote responsible dog ownership including raising awareness for a number of issues such as warm weather, microchipping and dog fouling.
Cllr Beverley Gray, the Council’s lead member for regulatory services said: “This is a well-deserved award and I am so proud to see the regulatory service receive it for all of their hard work in offering assistance for stray dogs and for continuing their work to ensure that dog owners are responsible for their pets.”
This is the fourth year in a row that the Council has received a gold award at the PawPrints awards.
The Council’s dog control service offers assistance with lost or stray dogs and promotion of responsible dog ownership. To find out more information and to report a stray dog, visit the Council’s webpage.
