Carlisle man crowned as UK’s best children’s entertainer at prestigious conference

Phil Flip has delighted audiences across the country with his performances that seamlessly blend magic, comedy, and interactive storytelling,

His unique approach, which encourages active participation and focuses on creating memorable experiences for children, earned him the top accolade at this year’s convention.

The Kidology Convention, known for its recognition of excellence in children’s entertainment, is held annually in September.

The highlight of the event is the award for UK Children’s Entertainer of the Year, presented by a panel of industry experts who evaluate creativity, audience engagement, originality, and overall performance.

Flip, who also recently was awarded membership of The Magic Circle, has been a keen magician since the age of five, having found the love for the art after seeing a children’s entertainer perform whilst on a family holiday in North Wales.

Having now provided children’s entertainment for almost three decades, Flip’s shows have captivated audiences not just in the UK, but internationally.

Flip said his win reflects his “continued commitment to bringing laughter and wonder to young audiences throughout the country”.

“This is an incredible honour,” said Flip.

“I’ve always believed in the power of entertainment to spark joy and imagination in children, and to be recognised in this way by my peers is truly humbling.”
