Bodenham Arboretum: forest named one of the most beautiful in UK

Bodenham Arboretum, near Kidderminster, is one of 27 locations in the country listed by Country Living to see the autumn colours in all their beauty.

The arboretum was founded in 1973 by David and Jennifer Binnian,

Bodenham received English Heritage status in 1995, which led to the family deciding to open the arboretum up to the public.

The 170 acres of woodland contains over five miles of pathways to be walked, a farm and a restaurant using produce from the arboretum.

Now, Bodenham hosts a range of events throughout the year as well as offering the opportunity of using the location for weddings and celebrations.

In their description of the forest, Country Living said: “Meander through the radiant colours at Bodenham Arboretum in the heart of Worcestershire. 

“Visitors will discover plantations, pools and over 3,000 species of trees and shrubs from all over the world.”

Bodenham has proven to be popular among visitors, with a 4.0 rating out of 5.0 on TripAdvisor from 213 reviews.

One visitor who gave the forest five stars said: “A peaceful place to walk and enjoy the trees and lakes, staff are friendly and the café and gift shop were worth visiting.”

Another visitor said: “We had an absolutely wonderful day, the staff were fantastic and the food was delicious.”

The forest is open between 10am and 5pm every day and from 9am to 5pm during half term.
