Anglesey business gets boost from retail entrepreneur Theo Paphitis

The Photographic Adventure Company, a family-run business, was one of six weekly winners in the ‘Small Business Sunday’ initiative, founded by the retail entrepreneur in 2010.

The initiative supports small businesses across the UK.

Greg Childs, founder of The Photographic Adventure Company, tagged Mr Paphitis about his business during the weekly event and was selected as a winner.

Mr Paphitis reposted the business to his more than half a million X and Instagram followers.

The business is now profiled on the #SBS website, exclusive to all Small Business Sunday winners.

Mr Childs said: “We have only just entered our second year of business and up until about three weeks ago I was still working from either the kitchen table or even the sofa.

“It is incredibly humbling and exciting to have this boost and support from Theo so early on in my business journey because it’s been extremely tough trying to raise our profile.

“Theo has recognised our hard work and helped spread the word about what we are doing to his following.

“My business, The Photographic Adventure Company is completely self-funded and to have this recognition from one of the UK’s top business tycoons is deeply rewarding and energising and gives us the confidence boost to keep growing the business.”

Mr Paphitis, who is also the chairman of Ryman Stationery, Robert Dyas, and Boux Avenue, said: “We are thrilled to welcome new #SBS members every week and highlight just how important it is to support our small businesses here in the UK.

“My vision is that everyone who has ever won an #SBS retweet from me becomes part of a friendly club; like-minded individuals who can share successes and learnings.

“The website will also give a valuable profile to the winners chosen and I wish The Photographic Adventure Company every success.”
