This model is also equipped with Bluetooth, which allows you to connect to speakers or headphones and listen to downloaded audiobooks even when you’re on the go.

Amazon has dropped prices across its Fire Tablet range, including the Fire HD 10. An eight-core processor powers this model and you might find it well-suited if you need a tablet that deals with basic tasks.

Amazon sells its tablets at a cheaper price with ads, or you can pay £10 more to have it without. The ads will appear in the home and lock screen, and you can pay to remove them once you’ve bought the tablet if you change your mind.

Amazon Echo deals

The third generation of Amazon’s smart display has a familiar wedge-shaped design and is a little larger than the previous version. On the top of the device, you’ll spot a mechanical privacy shutter for the camera, plus buttons to mute the microphone or adjust the volume.

You can tune into the radio, listen to music streaming services or audiobooks (these may require subscriptions), ask for weather updates, connect smart home devices and more.

Google’s most advanced phone from 2023 is the cheapest we’ve ever seen it in the early Back Friday deals. It has a variety of camera lenses for high-resolution shots and it’s the only phone in the Pixel 8 series to get Google Gemini Nano. This is Google’s AI model for smartphones designed to help simplify and speed up day-to-day tasks.

It has other fancy features too, such as a sensor that lets you scan an object to measure its temperature. Google claims you can use this to check if your pan is hot enough to start cooking, for example.

Notably, it also offers seven years of security updates from launch. So even though it’s a year old, you won’t have to trade it in any time soon.

This Silentnight mattress has a 17cm foam core, with a token 2.4cm layer of memory foam on top. It weighs just 17.2kg, which is lighter than average for the foam mattresses that we’ve tested. 

Silentnight claims that this mattress is soft, however our independent tests ranked as it as a 6.7, on a scale from 1 (very firm) to 10 (very soft). This makes it nearer the middle of the scale.

It’s been around for a few years now, so you can get a good deal on the memory foam mattress.

The A10 Hero cordless vacuum cleaner is the entry-level model from Tineco. It has a similar look and spec to older cordless Dysons, such as the V7 and V8 series, but is a fair bit cheaper.

Despite the low price, you still get quite a few tools and accessories: a turbo pet tool, an upholstery tool, and a crevice tool. It also has a charging base, where you can store the handheld vacuum, an extendable tube, the combi floor head and a couple of chosen accessories. It’s relatively light, tipping the scales at only 2.3kg, and the dust bin capacity is about average for a cordless stick vac.

Amazon computer monitor deals

This compact MSI monitor features a HDMI port and VGA port as well as a 3.5mm audio jack for headphones. You can’t adjust the height or swivel the monitor, but will be able to tilt it.

There are physical buttons to control and navigate the various settings and menus. As with other MSI monitors, these buttons are found on the back of the monitor.

Amazon printer deals

As an all-in-one model, you’ll be able to scan and copy as well as print, and this printer also has a small monochrome display.

TVs in Philips’s OLED759 range are cheap (by OLED TV standards at least). Look at a similarly sized TV from LG or Samsung and you’d pay several hundred pounds more. The 48-inch 48OLED759/12 is missing some features we’d expect from a high-end TV, but if the picture and sound are on point then maybe not having an app store and a PVR won’t be the end of the world for your needs.

Apple’s ever-popular truly wireless earbuds come with additional features over the first-generation. You can now swap out the eartips and the charging case has been updated. 

They’re rated IPX4 water and sweat resistant – meaning you can get water on them, but they shouldn’t go for a swim.

On thie side of this Google smartwatch, you’ll spot a bezel and button for navigating it when not using the touchscreen. It’s only compatible with Android phones and can’t be connected to an Apple iPhone.

The Pixel Watch comes with a silicone strap, which is the one we tested. With 5 ATM water resistance, it can be used in shallow water, but it’s worth knowing that the resistance can depreciate over time. You can buy a fabric or leather strap separately, but these aren’t water resistant.

You can get the watch face in a large array of colours, and we tested it with a silicone strap. There are also fabric straps to choose from.

It’s 5ATM-water resistance level means you can use it for shallow water swimming.

Does Amazon offer any guarantees?

Depending on how you shop through Amazon during the sales, you’ll be covered by one of the retailer’s guarantee schemes.

Amazon A-to-Z Guarantee

This offers protection if you purchase an item sold and fulfilled by a third-party seller. It covers the delivery and condition of your items, plus any problems with returns.

Amazon says you’re within your rights to request a refund if you haven’t received your package and three days have passed since the latest estimated delivery date. You can also claim your money back if the item is damaged, defective, or not as described.

Amazon Renewed Guarantee

If you’re purchasing a refurbished, pre-owned or open-box product, you’re covered by the Amazon Renewed Guarantee. The retailer says this gives you ‘the same standard return policy as on most purchases on Amazon’.

You can claim a replacement or refund if the product is faulty or ‘does not work as expected’ for a period of one year from delivery.

How much is delivery from Amazon?

Free shipping comes as standard for Amazon Prime members (excluding the four-hour delivery window option for larger items).

For non-Prime members, Standard delivery in the UK is free on orders of eligible books over £10 or of other eligible items over £25.

For One-Day and Premium delivery, this can vary between £3.95 and £4.99 per delivery, while Priority delivery costs 99p. Same-Day and Overnight Delivery costs £5.99 for all eligible items.

Regardless if you’re a Prime member or not, some large items may come with the option for a four-hour delivery window on a nominated day which is a single rate of £10.

You may also be given the option to send your parcel to one of Amazon’s Pickup locations.

Note that all the above-mentioned delivery costs are for orders fulfilled by Amazon. Delivery costs charged by third-party sellers on Amazon.co.uk may differ.

Returning sales purchases to Amazon

If you buy a product from Amazon during the sale and it arrives on your doorstep damaged, the retailer is fully responsible.

According to the Consumer Rights Act, your purchase needs to be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If the product doesn’t meet one of these requirements, the retailer (not the manufacturer) is at fault.

Even if your purchase isn’t damaged or faulty, you can still return it under Amazon’s voluntary returns policy. A message on the retailer’s website says: ‘You can return most products from the Amazon sites to Amazon within 30 days of receipt of the products.’

To do so, you’ll need to access Amazon’s Online Return Center.

How to recycle your old tech

Replacing some older tech during the sales? Be sure to dispose of your old items in a responsible way.

You have a couple of options if you want to offload your unwanted electronics. Kerbside collection is suitable for small electrical items – in many cases, your local council will collect smaller items such as toasters and kettles. Otherwise, you can simply drop the items at your local recycling centre.
