Amazon Prime Day 2024 live: Top UK offers on sale today

Save big this Prime Day with our pick of the top discounts (The Independent )

Assemble, bargain hunters – Amazon’s 48-hour October Prime Day is here. It kicked off with a bang this morning and will run until. tomorrow (9 October) evening at 11:59pm.

As with every Prime Day, there are savings on everything from TVs and laptops to beauty and home appliances, including vacuum cleanersheated clothes airers and dehumidifiers,. Tech from Applehome essentials and electric toothbrushes from Oral-B have seen their prices plummet too.

The retailer has of course also slashed the price of its own-brand gadgets – think Fire TV Sticks, Kindle tablets, Echo smart speakers and even its Ring video doorbells. But the best deal I’ve seen so far (and one I’d really recommend) is this fantastic deal on the AirPods Pro 2 earbuds, which have been slashed to their lowest-ever price.

To keep you constantly updated, I’m busy hunting down the very best discounts throughout the sale. But remember, you need to be a Prime subscriber if you want to take part.

Save 20% on the Yoto player this Prime Day

One of our parenting writers Zoe Griffin always raves about the Yoto player, and right now, Amazon has sliced a handy 20 per cent off the usual price.

(Yoto Player)

Here’s what she had to say in her review of the best kids’ audio players: “It was a tough call between Tonie and the Yoto,, but the Yoto player scooped the win for its wealth of additional features, such as the glowing night light, digital clock and child-friendly radio station,” she said. “The Yoto player boasts a child-friendly design, is intuitive to use, and can even help with routines, making it an excellent choice.”

Are there any PS5 deals this Prime Day?

Sadly not, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t any PS5 deals to be found. While Amazon hasn’t discounted the PS5, Sony has! Yesterday, Sony slashed the price of the PS5 Slim, and it’s still discounted right now.

(Sony)

Save £50 on the PS5 Slim digital edition console with this deal at PlayStation Direct. The new PS5 Slim comes with 1TB of internal storage, so you’ll be able to store more games, plus it weighs less and has two USB-C ports on the front. Obviously, it’s just as capable and fast as the older full-fat PS5, and you can add a disc drive at a later date if you wish.

Tech writer Steve’s favourite robot vacuum is also on sale

Not keen on my Eufy robot vacuum cleaner deal? Fellow tech writer Steve has just spotted that his favourite one from iRobot is also on sale this Prime Day. £50 cheaper than the Eufy X10 Pro Omni that I use daily. Pick a side – iRobot Roomba or Eufy X10? Either way, you’re getting a really good discount, and I don’t think they’re up for fighting.

This all-new Ring video doorbell has just received its first price cut

Ring just launched an all-new battery-powered video doorbell back in August, and Amazon’s already slashed it by 40 per cent in this Prime Day deal.

Ring battery video doorbell: Was £99.99, now £59.99, Amazon.co.uk

(Amazon )

With 40 per cent off, this is the bit of tech you want if you care about the security of your home (as well as looking after packages whilst you’re away). It has a 150-degree by 150-degree field of view, making the view 66 per cent taller compared to the old model. Really useful for the nifty package alerts feature because you can now see it on the ground. It also has a 23 per cent longer battery life, so you won’t have to recharge it as frequently.

Get this iPad at its cheapest price

Looking for an iPad deal this Prime Day? Forget the 10th-generation model, which still costs over £300 – the 9th-generation model is the one on sale, and it is still amazing value. Very capable and great for Netflix, gaming, shopping and reading.

Apple iPad, 9th gen, 2021: Was £329, now £269, Amazon.co.uk

(Amazon)

With a bright and sharp 10.2in retina display and all-day battery life, this is the iPad to buy and is the cheapest price I’ve seen Amazon sell the tablet. In fact, when my dear dad was looking for a new iPad, it was this one I recommended he get over the iPad 10th-generation, which has only been upgraded minimally over this model. It’s also no longer a red-tag deal, so you don’t have to be a Prime member to sbuscribe. Win!

This is the cheapest I’ve ever seen Amazon’s flagship Fire telly

And here’s the TV deal – while I haven’t reviewed this one myself, I’ve seen and used it in real life, and I adore it. The Independent’s tech critic David Phelan also included it in his guide to the best 4K TVs. I’ve never seen it this cheap before, so if you need a new TV, jump on this deal today.

Save a ginormous £320 on Amazon’s flagship telly, taking it down to its lowest-ever price. “Amazon has its own smart TV platform, which includes something called ‘ambient experience’, which displays art or photos when the TV is in standby.
