Worcester is one of the UK’s top cities for wanting to quit smoking
A study by nicotinepouches.net found that the city ranks fourth, with an average of 115 Google searches per month related to quitting smoking.
This equates to 109.04 searches per 100,000 people.
The most common search terms in the city include “nicotine patch,” “nicotine gum”, and “best way to quit smoking.”
With a population of around 103,000, Worcester has approximately 13,300 smokers, based on the West Midlands’ smoking prevalence of 12.9 per cent.
Miikka Saloseutu from nicotinepouches.net said: “Cigarette smoking is the leading cause of preventable diseases in the UK.
“It is responsible for nearly 80,000 deaths each year.
“Nicotine pouches can be a helpful tool for people trying to quit smoking because they provide a controlled and safer way to manage nicotine cravings without the harmful effects of smoking traditional cigarettes.”
Plymouth, Birmingham, and Liverpool ranked above Worcester on the list.
