One person said on the review website: “Embleton Bay is a hidden gem on the Northumberland coast. The beach is powdery white sand and the sea is clear and safe for bathing. Dunstanburgh castle makes a dramatic backdrop and it is a pleasant walk along the coast to Craster.”

Meanwhile, Bamburgh placed 11th in the UK list – with people loving the landscapes and walks on the beach.

On TripAdvisor, one person said of Bamburgh: “This is one of the nicest beaches I have visited. You get a wonderful view of the castle from this large sandy beach and if you walk through the sand dunes you get to the castle. There are lots of people walking their dogs. When the tide is out it’s quite a walk to the sea.”
