Vincent Kompany’s surprise move to Bayern Munich on a three-year deal has left a vacancy to fill and attention is already turning towards who could replace him at Turf Moor ahead of the new season.

The best betting sites have studied which managers might fancy the challenge of guiding the Clarets back to the Premier League following their relegation.

Kompany took Burnley to the Premier League with a division-record 101 points in 2023, but they struggled in the top flight last season, winning just five of their 38 matches.

However, the German giants decided that the former Manchester City skipper is the man to lead them back to former glories after they failed to land a trophy for the first time in 12 years.

Burnley must now choose a successor as they aim to secure an immediate return to the Premier League next season.

Let’s take a look at the market offered by betting apps for Burnley’s next manager.

Bellamy Cut For Clarets Role

Craig Bellamy is now Evens favourite to be promoted from within and replace Kompany as Burnley manager.

The former Newcastle, Liverpool and West Ham striker was the assistant to Kompany at both Anderlecht and Burnley, but perhaps tellingly he did not follow his ex-Manchester City team-mate to Bayern Munich.

That led to rumours that Bellamy was seen as the natural replacement for Kompany and he remains in the mix to land his first managerial role at Turf Moor.

Just last week, Bellamy was linked with the Wales job following the departure of Robert Page following their failure to qualify for Euro 2024.

But the challenge of taking Burnley back into the Premier League at the first attempt could be too tempting to turn down for the 44-year-old.

Could Corberan Be Next Clarets Boss?

Carlos Corberan guided West Brom to the play-offs last season, but the Baggies lost 3-1 on aggregate to Southampton over two legs.

There is talk of Corberan staying at The Hawthorns, but he may feel he has a better chance of winning promotion with Burnley next season.

If he stays at West Brom and the team start the season slowly, then he may be looking for a new job. If Burnley offer him the job this summer, then he might be granted more time there than at the Baggies.

Tellingly, Corberan’s odds have gone from 16/1 last week to 4/1 to be announced as Kompany’s replacement at Turf Moor.

Parker Poised To Answer Burnley Call

Scott Parker is a manager looking to get back into management after a difficult couple of years, but his odds have come in from 7/1 to 5/1 to land the Burnley job.

Parker was dismissed by Bournemouth days after the Cherries suffered a 9-0 defeat to Liverpool in August 2022, but he was back in a job when Club Brugge called him four months later.

The Belgian side had reached the Round of 16 in the Champions League, but Parker was sacked after winning just two of his 12 games in charge at the Jay Breydel Stadium.

Parker has a promotion to the Premier League on his CV which might lead to Burnley giving him a call.

It Would Be Ruud Not To Call Van Nistelrooy

Ruud van Nistelrooy is the latest big name to be linked with the Burnley hot seat and is now 8/1 to replace Kompany.

The former Manchester United striker had a couple of spells as assistant coach with the Netherlands before taking the reins at PSV in the 2022-23 campaign.

Van Nistelrooy led the club to a Dutch Cup triumph, but then quit his position over what he perceived as a lack of support from the club’s board amid a player revolt about his coaching style.

The Dutchman has been out of work since and may decide a fresh challenge in England is what he needs to kickstart his managerial career.

Rosenior Ready For Clarets Challenge

Liam Rosenior has been linked with a number of jobs this summer since his shock sacking by Hull City at the end of the 2023-24 season.

Rosenior (10/1) guided the Tigers to seventh in the Championship, but City’s owner made a change because the style of football wasn’t entertaining enough.

It’s believed Rosenior, who reportedly turned down the Sunderland job, won’t be out of work for long and Burnley could be the perfect club for him to get back into management.

Henriksen’s Stock Currently High

Bo Henriksen is one of the candidates being considered for the position, with the 49-year-old currently managing Bundesliga side Mainz.

Henriksen took over in February when Mainz were in the relegation zone, but thanks to a strong run of form, the team climbed the table and finished 13th, comfortably above the bottom three.

His reputation is currently high, and he brings a wealth of experience from his previous roles at Midtjylland and Zurich, among other clubs.

Additionally, with reports suggesting that Henrik Jensen, his former assistant, is poised to take a coaching role at Burnley, there’s growing speculation that the two could reunite at Turf Moor.

Pascal Has a Point To Prove

Pascal Jansen (16/1) has been out of work since departing AZ in January following a successful three-year stint that began in December 2020.

During Jansen’s tenure, AZ achieved a third-place finish in the 2020-21 season, securing a Europa League spot.

In the following seasons, they finished fifth and fourth, qualifying for the Europa Conference League each time.

Jansen managed 162 games at AZ, with a win rate of 58.02% in the Eredivisie. However, he was dismissed after narrowly avoiding an upset in the KNVB Cup against the amateur team Quick Boys.

Solskjaer Seeking Sideline Return

Van Nistelrooy is not the only former Manchester United legend linked with a move to the Turf Moor, his former teammate Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also being linked with the job.

The Red Devils icon has been out of work since leaving Old Trafford in 2021 but is 16/1 with football betting sites for a return to the dugout with Burnley ahead of the 2024-25 season.

The 51-year-old previously admitted he has certain conditions he wants a job to meet before taking it, saying: “My best mate, who is also my agent, sifts through them [offers].

“If you’ve managed Man Utd, you put your own criteria about what you want to work with. I love England and the Premier League.”

So whether he’d be willing to drop down into the Championship remians to be seen.

Burnley To End Lampard Sabbatical?

Frank Lampard sat out all of last season following his departure from Chelsea at the end of the 2022-23 campaign.

His batteries will have been recharged and it might just be a matter of time before the former England midfielder returns to management.

Could that be with Burnley? Lampard managed Derby County in the second tier for the 2018/19 season, leading them to the play-off final, where they lost to Aston Villa.

However, Lampard’s odds have drifted to 20/1 to return to management with Burnley.
