Switzerland’s Nemo has won this year’s Eurovision song contest.
The singer pipped Croatia to the top spot with 591 points.
They are the the first non-binary singer to win the contest – wowing viewers with their performance of The Code, a drum-and-bass, opera, rap and rock tune about a journey of self-discovery as a non-binary person.
Accepting the iconic glass microphone trophy, Nemo said: “I want to say thank you so much, I hope this contest can live up to its promise and continue to stand for peace and dignity for every person in this world”.
Switzerland’s win ends a contest that has shrouded in controversy due to protests over the Gaza war and the disqualification of Dutch contestant Joost Klein hours before the grand final.
